Pidgin has some interesting recent developments here in its A/V suport, but only via Fink, and then I'm not even sure if the rudimentary A/V support works properly and in a high-performing fashion anymore. Another one I've tried is the Java-based Mercury Messenger which offers similar bulky performance as aMSN.Īdium? The most obvious alternative, Adium, doesn't support webcam in the first place, besides via a plugin that forces both ends to use a free website that hosts your webcam streams. I'm currently using aMSN which is easily the worst looking application on my Mac, but at least it does webcam right with Windows Live Messenger users.
